The opening whistle started a tight battle as buckets were traded back and forth before Magee finally pulled ahead at the end of the quarter making it 10 – 5. They continued to pull ahead in the third quarter and ended the half 18 – 9. The third quarter was low scoring for both teams, each only added 4 points to their tally. In the fourth quarter Eric Hamber began to fight back. Alison Prissinotti (#1) hit her second 3 with 3 minutes left in the game to bring the score to 24 – 21. Maya Cantor (#8), who lead her team in scoring replied with a quick layup. With a minute left in the game, Kay Uy (#2) hit a 3 to make the score 26 – 24. But it wasn’t quite enough. Magee held onto their lead, adding one more point off a free throw to make the final score 27 – 24.

Killarney 67 – 40 St. Patrick’s
A close first quarter ended 12-10 for Killarney but the Cougars separated themselves taking a 32-16 lead into halftime. The Celtics’ Veronica Dvorak caused problems with her strong play in the paint but the Cougars were able to maintain their lead with a 67-40 win.

John Oliver 44 – 37 Notre Dame
John Oliver came out firing on all cylinders. Led by Kaila Tong (#1) and Janna Jamorabon (#5), The Jokers lead at half time 35-19. The momentum of this game changed after the third quarter . The Jugglers played extremely well at the defensive end holding the jokers to just 5 points in the 4th quarter . Led by Kaela Valencia (#2) and Rose Orenzo (#11), the jugglers came within just 5 points. In the end , it was not enough as the Jokers had enough fuel to come out with the win 44 -37. The Jokes captured third place in the tournament.

Britannia 79 – 48 Lord Byng
Both teams battled hard and showed great hustle. Britannia’s full court pressure proved to be very effective but Byng was able to keep pace. At the end of the Britannia led 30-20. Byng battled hard in the second half, pulling down rebounds and pushing the ball up the floor to create transition scoring opportunities. Britannia continued their strong defensive play in the second half, defeating Byng 79-48.
