Point Grey – Britannia

The grade 10 final ended up being a hard fought challenge for both teams.  PG’s #21 Sophie Johnson came out gunning early hitting two key three pointers in the first quarter to get her team going.  Sophie also made a few nice assists to her teammate #4 Sam Chisham.  Both teams played an evenly matched first quarter which ended 10-10.  Missed free throws plagued both teams in the first half, with PG and Britannia combining for a 0/10 stat from the line.  The second half is where Britannia had a bit of foul trouble and started to show some fatigue.  The aggressive two person immediate on-ball trap from PG in the full court started to cause a few turnovers, and PG stretched their lead to 14 in the third quarter.  Starting the fourth quarter firing, Britannia’s #8 Jewel Leeson hit a number of key shots and helped get Britannia out of the full court pressure with ease.  Britannia’s #12 Tiana Sacco showed pride in her game, causing a number of jump balls and encouraging her Bruins to fight for every loose ball.  Despite a valiant effort to make a comeback, the PG Hounds came out on top winning the final 42-33.
