2015 – Day 3 Game Summaries

JUNIOR GIRLS

Pool A, Game 3
York House 29       Notre Dame 21

End of 1st quarter, Notre Dame led 9-5 after a slow start and it was tied at 15 at the half. ND did a good job attacking the hoop while York played a perimeter game. York picked up the pressure in the 2nd half up 23-21 after 3 and shutting ND out in the decisive 4th quarter. POG for YH Maggie Ching with a big 3 and lots a steals. POG for ND was Lauren Canofari with 9 pts.

Pool B, Game 3
Crofton House 41       Churchill 16

After a close 1st quarter (14-7), the Crofton D took over 33-12 at the half and finishing off a great team win 41-16. Leading scorer in the game was Kaitlin Chow with 15 points.

Pool C, Game 3
St. Patrick’s 51       John Oliver 28

St Pat’s set a very fast pace on the way to 51-28 final. Cassie Brinn led all scorers with 19, several of the highlight variety. POG for JO Baldip Shergill and for ST Pats Chelsea Del Rosario.

SENIOR GIRLS

Second Round, Game 5
York House 43       John Oliver 40

This game was a tight race throughout. John Oliver lead by 2 at the end of the first quarter and York House by 5 at the end of the half. The Tigers’ wide passing game allowed for great shooting opportunities from longer range while the Jokers were quite the threat with their ability to fearlessly attack the basket. Brianna Tsui of the Tigers sunk a couple 3-pointers in the second half which proved to be key in keeping her team ahead, as the final score was 43-40 for the York House Tigers.

Top scorers were Brianna Tsui with 11 points and Amarpreet Randhawa with 14.

Second Round, Game 6
Magee 53       St. Patrick’s 21

After a few rusty passes from both teams in the beginning of the game, Magee came out strong in the first quarter, forcing turnovers and passing the ball effectively to find the open shots. The St. Pat’s girls kept up with the pace throughout the game and were able to find good shot opportunities; however, these opportunities were limited as they were outrebounded by Magee and St Pat’s ultimately wasn’t able to find a way to catch up with the score.

Top scorers were Melissa Ko with 17 points and Katherine Morales with 15.

Second Round, Game 7
Notre Dame 74       Killarney 56

Notre Dame came out flying early and had a big lead through the third quarter when Killarney fought back closing the gap to 10 points in the middle of the fourth. In the end Jolene Robinson and Lauren Bondi were just too much for the Cougars. Final score: 74-56.

Second Round, Game 8
Britannia 48       Churchill 42

These two team have been undefeated in league but hadn’t met until tonight. And it was a tightly contested fast paced game throughout tied at 20 at the half. Churchill was down by 3 with less than a minute but couldn’t close the gap. Final score: 48-42.
