JUNIOR GIRLS
Pool A, Game 2
Notre Dame 35 Killarney 27
A low scoring first quarter developed into a fast paced, tightly contested game with ND building a lead in the final 2 minutes to defeat Kilarney 35-27. Leading scorers were Notre Dame’s Veronica Dziurika with 7 points and Killarney’s Rasalie Dela Cruz with 16 points.

Kitsilano 49 Crofton House 38
Both teams answered back offensively, keeping the score close after the first period, 17-15 for Kits. By the half, Kits dominated on the offensive rebounds pulling away from Crofton House and ending with a 30-20 lead. Crofton was able to close the gap to 7 points with their defensive steals, but with Kits’ rebounding and aggressive attacks to the hoop, Kits was able to come up with the win ending the game 49-38.

Britannia 57 St. Patrick’s 40
Britannia’s full court press proved a struggle for the Celtics causing a 15-3 lead by the end of the first period. The Bruins were able to maintain their lead with 26-11 at the half. In the second half, the Celtics continued to play with intensity to close the gap, but with the Bruins’ defensive pressure and offensive rebounds, Brit maintained their lead ending the game with a 57-40 win. Top scorers were Cassie Brinn from St Pat’s and Malena Mokhovikova from Britannia with 16 points each.

SENIOR GIRLS
First Round, Game 1
Notre Dame 84 John Oliver 31
The #1 seeded Jugglers came out ready to compete and never looked back. At half time ND led 44-12. The Jokers picked up their offensive pace the second half, scoring 19 points, but ND would not be denied led by starting point guard Lauren Bondi who dropped five 3’s and scored a total of 29 points. John Oliver’s Gurveen Gill finished with 9 points.

First Round, Game 2
York House 89 Killarney 97 OT
Both teams went back and forth throughout the whole game, with Killarney leading 39-35 at the half. In the last minutes of the game York House leads but missed opportunities and a last second 2-pointer made by Killarney pushed the game to overtime at 81-81. In overtime, both team matched up well but foul trouble lead to the demise of York House, who was left with limited amount of players leading to a win for Killarney.

Britannia 61 Magee 49
Britannia started the game with multiple fast breaks and offensive rebounds leading the first period 23-8. In the second half, the Bruins continued with their fast breaks and passing skills to pull away from Magee and end up with the 55-28 win.

First Round, Game 4
Churchill 90 St. Patrick’s 21
Churchill came flying out the gates and built a lead early with dominate defensive play with multiple steals, leading 56-10 at the half. St. Patrick’s came out competing in the second making a couple good shots but Churchill’s dominant defense and offense was too much to overcome. Both teams competed hard and played a good game. Game high scorers were Madison Reyes from St. Pat’s and Cecilia Bao from Churchill.
