SENIOR GIRLS
First Round, Game 1
Magee 48 St. Patrick’s 41
The Magee Lions ended their first-round match-up against the St. Patrick’s Celtics on a 10-3 run to win 48-41 and advance to the semifinals. The game was close all the way through and the largest lead either team enjoyed before Magee’s late run was when the Lions hit a foul shot to go up 29-24 early in the third quarter. The halftime score was 24-22 for Magee, which was led by Amanda Hui’s 13 points. Kate Perez had 11 for St. Pat’s.

First Round, Game 2
York House 68 Killarney 22
YHS jumped out to an early 12-2 lead by Ashna Siddoo who hit two 3s and caused several turnovers on D. YHS continued to feast off turnovers caused by their pressure and led 23-8. In the second quarter, both teams were struggling to finish, but the Tigers built a 41-15 at the half. Final score 68-22.

First Round, Game 3
Notre Dame 69 Kitsilano 66
This was a very entertaining game. Notre Dame looked to be in control the whole time but couldn’t pull away and the game wasn’t decided until the last seconds. Notre Dame won 69-66. Chiara Bostock from Kitsilano was the scoring leader with 44 points.

First Round, Game 4
Britannia 74 John Oliver 32
Britannia got off to a quick start hitting five treys in the first quarter, finishing 21-10 at the end of 10 minutes. The Jokers with a very athletic lineup was unable to match the Bruins who had 8 out of 10 players register on the scoresheet. It was an impressive showing from beyond the arc as Britannia hit eleven 3s, led by Amanda Young (2012 VGBA 3pt shooting champion) who finished with 27 points.

JUNIOR GIRLS
First Round, Game 1
Winston Churchill 31 St. Patrick’s 17
Churchill led St Patrick’s 13-8 at the end of first after a flurry of offensive baskets. It was a slow second quarter as the Bulldogs only managed to score 3 points but held the Celtics scoreless. Six players led the scoring for the Bulldogs, finishing 31-17 at the end of 32 minutes.

First Round, Game 2
Notre Dame 26 Eric Hamber 25
At the half Notre Dame led 11-6 and Hamber closed the gap early in the third quarter and from then on the teams were separated by no more than 2 points — tough win and tough loss.

York House 68 Gladstone 40
Two hard working teams came out strong but the difference was the Tigers were finishing and Gladstone struggled to make shots in the early going as the Tigers built an 11-0 lead. Gladstone kept battling and started scoring but the Tigers maintained a 36-20 lead at the half. The Tigers went on to win 68-40.

Britannia 21 Crofton House 39
A school science project reduced the Britannia roster and Crofton House showed no mercy. They led 18-10 at the half and finished the game 39-21.
